The Compton Skyline Project is a collaborative project devised by Brighton-based artist Steve Geliot which brings together professional artists and local people to create a unique temporary artwork in the heart of a community.
It takes the form of still and moving images projected onto large rooftop screens after dusk. They are visible from a substantial part of the city.
The installation was launched on 16th September 2006 with a street party for residents. It will last for one week.
Many people were involved in creating the event and thousands will experience it. It will develop the talents of people in the neighbourhood and strengthen relationships between them.
